The JDN claims are located
approximately 10 miles/16 km. northwest of the Pipeline deposit and next to
Placer Domes Hilltop Mine. The area is reached by travelling Interstate
80 to Secondary Hwy. 306 to Crescent Valley. 50% interest in 27 claims in
Lander County. In May 1993 the Company acquired the option to earn a 50%
interest in 34 load mining claims. The area wa restaked and reduced in the 1996
fiscal year to the present 27 claims. The fiscal 1997 exploration program
funded by the Company enabled it to exercise its right to an undivided 50%
interest in the claims.
Both the JDN and E&E
and DH
properties lie on the Battle Mount Trend where
Placer Dome operates the Pipeline project, reported to historically
contain more than 10 million ounces. Both properties are within a few miles
of Coral Golds large claim which is between the Pipeline and the properties
held by Mill Bay Ventures Inc. Potential exists for similar mineralized structures
on Mill Bay properties as have been found on other portions of the Battle
Mountain Trend. Further exploration and drilling of both properties would
be in order should the price of gold improve.
MILL BAY ventures inc., Nevada Properties: Goldstrike hosts two
deposits - the Meikle underground mine (5.3 million ounces) and the Betze-Post open pit mine (23
million ounces). (Figures are combined reserves & resources, as at December 1999), For those
not familiar with high-grade vein deposits on the Carlin Trend, an overview of the Ken Snyder Mine
is useful for comparison purposes. At Ken Snyder, geological modeling and persistent drilling led
to the discovery of the deposit. The Ken Snyder mine is a 650-ton per day underground operation,
opened in 1999 at a capital cost of less than US$100 million. Annual production is about 250,000
equivalent ounces of gold at a cash cost of around US$100 per ounce.
